A friend asked me to pen a small article for his entrepreneur online magazine, and the topic touches on work philosophies
i think in career or work, there are three philosophies that should be kept and maintain in order to be success
1) determination with hardwork
-this come hand in hand. only hard work without determination, you can only last that long. with determination but without hardwork, you can only go that far. With hardwork, i mean constant bashing and working, regards of time and days.
2) constant learning
-keep reading and learning. attend classes, courses, and buy books. read from the internet, listen to radio and talks. keep learning while stuck in traffic, when doing nothing. just keep reading.
3) fail
-fail is not the opposite of success but the pillar of success, dont be afraid to try and fail. keep trying. you will succeed one day
i personally think this are the least main ingredient you need.
success does come with a price but in regards of it, its ok... looking back one day and you will realize.. its worth the effort
dont work for money... money will come itself.. work for a cause

as an avid martial art fan.. these few months has been cloud nine for me...
no no, i'm no crazy martial art fan who idolize bruce lee nor am i some martial art freak who likes to go around kicking people's ass..
i'm a guy and i think majority of guys are keen martial art fan..
as i no longer need to do tutoring, additional part time job, weekend promotion and my phd.. i spend a lot of time during this few months just going to martial art classes...
of course once a while i get my ass kick, my jaw punched...
but i am enjoying every minute of it..
of course that in one way or another make me no time to do any dates... lol..

i was asked to participate and learn from this public speaking class by one of my friend Steve. Steve is a retired air steward who decide to venture into entrepreneur with his vast contact.
I thought to myself.. why not, learning is a constant thing so why deprive own self off knowledge while able to know a few good friends as well

i think there is a big problem going on right now with young people (i consider myself mid age)
its either they are being too protective from their family, or Malaysia education system is a massive failure
of all the young people which by the age of 18-25, majority does not even have the right attitude
1) lack of focus
meaning they do not have goals for themselves. For example, if you set a goal that in one year you only care about learning. Then the travelling distance, the over time, the heavy work, the stress, the sweat, and the salary shouldn't be a problem, that is because learning become the main goals. Bringing up small issues will forever pull you behind.
2) motivation
John cena says "never give up", the rock says "just bring it", stone cold steve austin said he just open a can of woop ass. What i heard so far, i don't think this work / job suit me... i'm shock.. a successful person will constantly change his method but never his goal, a failure will keep this method but keep on changing his goal
3) ego
massive ego. Its bigger than the sky with inside being holllow and empty. you mention that you spend the equal if not more time working than the boss.. do u even know what your boss is doing or when he is working??
4) career
you lose sight of what is important in building a career.
5)energy
where is the energy level?? your energy level come
seriously, there are so many idiots out there, not to say i'm brilliant work of art created by god but i think to be successful, these are the main ingredient you need and if a person have this basic needed ingredient.. i don't know why are you not trying to be an employer instead.
of course there are many factors to think of.. i understand
anyway, i think with this kind of attitude... i can see our workforce are going from good to bad to worse!!

good article and well written
We are saddled with incompetent Malays manning our Cabinet and controlling the rakyat’s money, and this begs the question: “Where have all the smart, decent and responsible Malays gone?”
Is it politics they shun, or is it the Malaysian-style politics which they reject? Should we be content with mediocre Malay candidates to shape our policies and protect the nation? Of course not!
In any given situation, it should be the most able man or woman who should be given the responsibility of leading Malaysia.
Malaysia needs a true leader, not a wannabe leader whose claim to the highest post in the land is that he has the right skin colour, he wears a songkok, he goes to the mosque, he bows to the sultan and he speaks Malay.
Some years ago, a fire broke out in the laboratory of a multinational corporation in Malaysia. When the alarm went off, the most senior person in the laboratory, a bumi, rushed out after grabbing his briefcase.
He went straight home. He was not concerned about the welfare of the workers in the building. The junior members of the laboratory and the cleaners were responsible enough to ensure that all their colleagues had been evacuated safely.
This burning laboratory is an analogy for Malaysia today. The bumi was presumably chosen as a leader because of his ethnicity. At the first hint of trouble his only concern was for himself and his possessions. He had no leadership qualities.
It would not be true to say that all bumis would have acted in this cowardly manner. The story is just to demonstrate that people should be chosen on their abilities. Not their ethnicity.
We have seen from the investigations into the disappearance of flight MH370 that any intruder could come into the country undetected. The RMAF have not explained yet how they saw the radar blips as “non-hostile”.
We have seen that our borders are porous, especially in Sabah, where hundreds of thousands of illegals enter unchallenged. Despite promises from our leaders, tourists are kidnapped with alarming regularity.
You may think that the security situation in the country is the worst of our problems. No, it is not!
Our worst problem, in Malaysia, is the attitude of the rakyat. When Hishammuddin Hussein, the Acting Transport Minister, flew to Australia in economy class, some members of the rakyat said he was so “humble” and therefore deserved to be the next prime minister.
Is our intellect so low that Hishammuddin is “prime minister material” just because he flew in economy class? What if this was a publicity stunt? Was this economy travel a one-off?
For many years the Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guan Eng has flown economy on AirAsia. Does he qualify to be Malaysia’s prime minister by this “economy class” criterion?
Are they free of sin?
Hishammuddin was praised for his relative eloquence and ability to respond favourably to foreign newsmen at the various press conferences held to release information about the disappearance of MH370.
After hearing leaders like the MAS CEO, the DCA chief, the IGP and the head of the armed forces stutter and mumble, Hishammuddin’s mastery of English, gained during his English education, would naturally sound mellifluous.
Hishammuddin was able to “answer” the questions of foreign reporters at the MH370 press briefings but why did he refuse to answer questions posed by local journalists about the cost of the rail link between KLIA and KLIA2?
On April 30, when Hishammuddin was at the Express Rail Link (ERL) station at KLIA2, the press asked him why the rakyat would have to pay RM2 to use the rail link between KLIA and KLIA2.
Around RM100 million of the taxpayers’ money has been spent to connect the two terminals. This is just charging the rakyat to use a railway that they have paid for with their own money.
The Acting Transport minister’s response was an abrupt, “Because it is public transport… I’m not going to argue with you.”
He would not have dared to be so coarse with the foreign newsmen because he knew that he would have shamed himself and his country. Hishammuddin reverted to his old Umno Baru arrogant self with the local journalists because he knew that the foreign newsmen had returned home.
The rakyat cannot be sure that the project was awarded in a transparent manner. Did a crony “win” the tender? Why should the rakyat have to pay to use the railway link as their money, the taxpayers’ money, was used to fund the project? Umno Baru seems to be demanding to have its cake and eat it!
Malaysia is in bad shape because of us the rakyat. The poor choice of men in our cabinet is because we the rakyat allowed our leaders to do as they pleased. We kept voting them in and even after we found that they had cheated, we did nothing about sacking them.
Ministers travel economy and we think they are worthy of being PM. The knowingly corrupt ones tell reporters that they have gone for many umrahs (mini pilgrimages), and the Malays among us, feel that they must be pious and therefore, not corrupt. Visiting the holy land umpteen times does not mean they are free of sin.
If you put the two cousins side by side you may logically conclude that Hishammuddin is preferable to his cousin Najib Tun Razak; but are the cousins staging a double-act to protect each other?
If Hishammuddin wants to prove himself he could investigate corruption and deaths in police custody, and as Transport Minister, explain the eight train derailments which have happened in the past year.
He could push through the proposals which various committees have urged to be implemented after many fatal bus crashes.
Talent Corp has difficulty enticing Malaysians to return home and serve their country. Many Malays who work and live abroad and the numbers of Malays who are making plans to emigrate, are rising. Who do you blame?

I had a conversation with a friend earlier.. and he spoke about investment and one of the thing that he talk to me about it about investing in properties.. He goes by saying i should invest at this new place because of the MRT etc and so forth
you heard many people say investing in property is about location, location and location
location is secondary. Strategy is number one.. many property agent probably make a mistake by just being an agent.. just like any sales you see outside.. they are sales promoter
a good sales diagnose the customer problem, hit them with solution, give them stuff to ponder about, give them knowledge that they have never heard before, corner them with question-question-statement strategy and deal close.
how many property agent actually asked a potential owner how may i assist you or what kind of condo you looking at but rather, why do you look at this condo?
if you stand at a point whereby the prospect feel he knows better than you... you already fail big time!
honestly, i'm not even in property but the way these people sell me this investment hope.. i find it a bit humiliating.. if my strategy is looking for shop.. how does MRT become my hot button?? or if i'm looking at being a hostel for student, how does MRT again being my hot button?

i spend many evening lately doing what i enjoy recently.. my hobby
i spend so much time on it.. that i realize that i was putting in too much hours in work previously.. i enjoy myself more nowadays..
of course i dont regret it.. i think people should build their career and work very hard when they are in their 20's.. when you reach your 30's you should have a very stable career.. and when you reach 35, a person should be able to taste what financial freedom means..
**********************************
and i'm starting to look at furniture and also other stuff for new house...
i will miss bukit jalil.. but a different setting / environment and a step up is a must
as a human we should keep on improving.. thats constant.. regards of how hard it might seems.. that's goal in life..
so we keep on reading to improve knowledge, keep on learning new things or a new hobby, take criticism in heart to improve oneself, keep challenge own self to newer height...
never blame anyone and never gave up.. nothing is more demotivating than saying i can't to own self
somebody asked me, why take up such heavy burden with the new house... and why drag feet over the mud with a new business plan when everything seems stable now...
that's the point
i shouldn't be in a comfort zone...at least not until 35
money is secondary... it is about doing what you can do best that will give the best satisfaction in life.... while making money is the best feeling
guy will always be guys and differ from what a girl want in life
if a guy doesn't even challenge himself to better himself.. i reckon he stay home and babysit the kids instead
