march 1 2016

After graduating from college, we enter the workforce that we are somehow program to do during our school years.

That's where the rat race come

Of course, not all are in the rat race

1) those who inherited business from parent or work for family
2) Enter the right industry at the right time

while majority stuck in the race

some decide to take the race slowly and enjoy it accepting the fact that it is a wheel who have no exit point, some work extremely hard and chase the exit point, while some con-artist tries to con its way out.

Some succeed, while some don't

that is put in a simpler term which unfortunately, society is not that simple. It is so much more complicated.

I spoke with a friend few days back, he mention to me that he is buying a house soon but with a limited budget, there's just not much option to look into. It is either too small, too far or are in a bad neighborhood. I don't see his problem nearing to solve anytime soon. He is stuck like many others that i known or talked to.

To me, in order to unstuck this situation, he first has to be prepare to work hard. A lot of people told me that they are willing to work hard so long as its their passion or the money is good.

That is a trade off.

we were brought up by peers, teachers and even mentor telling us, we should keep looking for something we enjoy doing because work fill large part of our lives.

my point of view is this. There bound to be something which you are good at and there is bound to be something which you are passionate about at.

leave it that way and don't mix it up

take myself for example

i'm good at selling although that's not what i enjoy doing, i enjoy teaching and physical activities and there's where my passion lies.

i keep both apart and make career out of both of them. Since:

1) it's something i'm good at, i would find it effortless
2) it's something i enjoy and passionate about, i would find it to be effortless too

i don't really know what i like or passionate about so i decide to chase and build a career base on something that i'm good at while finding something i enjoy and passionate about.

now that i found it, i'm planning to build my career around it too

of course to me, both shouldn't make me commit many hours of my time to it. Couple of hours a day is more than adequate.

my friend asked if it's even possible.

YES

have you ever see vincent tan down in 7-evelen? toto? starbucks? etc

the owner of mcdonald certainly doesn't stay at mcdonald 24-7

it's always about building a system and i am a firm believe of the system.

somehow i no longer feel i'm stuck in the rat race anymore and would like to shared my opinion on how to unstuck oneself from sticky situation

and that's my two cents

2016 chinese new year come and go

not much firework were lit and not much activity occurred during this year's Chinese new year. Not much gambling, not much alcohol, not much snacks were eaten nor were there much soda drinking too.

During this year, i have also decided to take the sales team for a trip in order to relax ourselves before stepping into the month of March whereby it will be a war zone month.

This is one funny candid pictures taken during the break that i like most. So candid!

I anticipate that we will be busy through the months leading towards end of this year. With the current economy slowing down and company holding back, i see this as a good opportunity for us to spear through with less competition in the industry.

************************************************************

Aside from working a 9-6 job, i have been keeping myself busy by taking up a new hobby ever since i completed my Phd.

I never enjoy it before but i'm starting to like it now. It feels like something is missing if i did not hit the gym. And here is the result of me hitting the gym. I didn't really go full hardcore, thus that explain why i'm not being huge and having blazing guns. I also did not adhere to any really strict diet such as no sugar or no oil, thus that also explain why the lack of six pack.

I believe in working out, staying  healthy but also enjoying my life. Having a good meal also very much equal to enjoying life. I enjoy pizza very much, so i have it every now and then in a moderate rate.

Not to mention yee sang too.

i saw how some of my friends who is fitness freak that they literally calculate gram / calorie on every food they eat.

well, what's the point then? in Malaysia we have this word called "cari makan" which equal to work for food

we work for food. so after work, if we can't indulge ourselves with good food that Malaysia can offer, instead having those tasteless chicken breast. To me personally, i just think it's not enjoying life.

*************************************************************

Although me personally is a workaholic and enjoy making money, i came to a junction in life whereby i only put certain time and days into working for money.

Maybe because i think i have set the ground work and direction for my company and that i no longer need to dedicate all my time to it. Those free time i would want spend doing something different.

That's not saying i don't enjoy my work. I enjoy my work a lot! but i also wanted to do something that is different such as cooking, enjoying good musics, muay thai / parkour or even indulge myself with science and play with firmicutes / nitrospirae etc.
